Waiting in line, finally my turn, I ask, “What’s the easiest way to return this belief? Its not working for me. I want to give back the entire system. Its outdated, doesn’t serve.” The belief department clerk recites the policy, ‘A belief is a life time commitment.  No returns.  No refunds.’  I hear myself speaking, ‘A life time commitment?  I am my life time commitment.  The quality of my life is my ultimate commitment. This belief is hurtful.  It disrespects my desire for a good relationship with myself and my world!’  I shake my head feeling hopeless and then I remember it.  ‘You are not my friend. You have never done anything good for me.  Go back to the nothingness from which you’ve come.’  I say it aloud quietly, ‘You are not my friend.  You have never done anything good for me.  Go back to the nothingness from which you’ve come.’  One by one I hear the others standing in line begin to say it too, until they are a chorus of voices rising up in unison, ‘You are not my friend.  You have never done anything good for me.  Go back to the nothingness from which you’ve come!’  And they are gone.  The beliefs are gone.  The recurrent thoughts, beliefs, the whole system of beliefs, banished, back to the nothingness.  Just like that.

A belief is a mind thought that you think again and again.  If it does not serve, no matter what the belief police tell you, you can return it.  You can send it to the nothingness.  You can send it back, again and again.  Your life time commitment is to you.  Your quality of life is the ultimate commitment.  You deserve beliefs and belief systems that create a good relationship with yourself and your world.
